The carving is Mother Earth?! At least that’s what Lynn Swain, the owner of MagikCraft, thinks.
After we decided the carving probably wasn’t Druid, we knew we had to find someone local who would know more than the Reddit post. I realized although we didn’t know anyone like that, we could ask around at mystic shops. P and I decided to visit the one near Duke in Durham.
We agreed not to tell my story or anything too personal. I’d just show the video of the carving and see what she thinks.
Lynn is the owner of MagikCraft and the one who gives readings over there. She says she’s a medium, she’s a witch, and she works with Goddess energy. She was also willing to let us video her.
But when I asked about the carving, it was like the sound dropped out.
Everyone in the store stopped talking… like I was asking about something that’s supposed to remain unspoken. Only Lynn seemed to think this was the most natural thing in the world.
She referred to the Spiral Goddess simply as the Goddess, but as Lynn spoke, I came to understand “the Goddess” is Mother Earth. She said the spiral is the spiral of life that appears in many spiritual paths.
Lynn thought the scratched-up face is actually the Goddess concealing things, holding back her secrets, waiting for you to receive them. And the winding spiral of roots are not trapping her, but rather empowering her and protecting her.
Maybe they’re similar to the roots that moved to help me? And the fact that she called them spiraling roots made me think of the twig spirals I saw in there.
Another interesting thing she mentioned is Venus energy and the Venus statues in museums all over the world. She thought the carving reminded her of them.
Lynn also said people around here think the Native Americans carved it, but she thinks it was the Vikings. She said their religion was very Goddess oriented. I always thought Vikings were super masculine. P was shocked by this one. And I assume she means the imagery is Viking in style because the carving itself doesn’t look super old and worn?
If Lynn is right, the carving in Eno River State Park is a carving of Mother Earth.
Granted Lynn also asked how long P and I have been together. She said it’s very rare to see a couple with such perfect energy alignment. Since we’re obviously not a couple, that’s one strike against her psychic abilities.
After what I saw in there, I’m inclined to believe her… even if P and I are sooooooo not dating!
